How do I cancel a job or refine an edge?

Cancel while processing, then choose another image when ready. On the result screen, choose a solid or image background, use the edge editor to erase or restore areas, undo changes, and check your export. Cancelling never starts a cloud job.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Check edges and continue editing

Process one image or open a saved example. Compare the original and removed-background preview on the result page to locate edges that need attention.

    Open the image editor
  2. Refine and restore edges

Use Erase, Restore, Undo and Redo to refine edges. After selecting Done, wait for the edit to apply; duplicate submissions are blocked. Success returns to the result page. On failure, an error appears and your draft and previous result remain available for retry. Leaving the brush editor, switching images or adding an image while edits are unsaved or applying asks whether to keep editing or discard them.

  3. Replace backgrounds

Use a JPG, PNG or WebP background no larger than 20 MiB, 32 megapixels or 12,000 pixels on either side. A failed or cancelled read keeps the previous background and any existing download.

  4. Choose an export format

Wait for the preview update, then choose a format and download. Inspect the exported image, especially hair, translucent objects and fine edges.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • In the single-image editor, keep transparency, choose a color or add your own background image. Batch processing exports transparent results. Single-image editing settings are not automatically applied to a whole batch.
  • Cancel the current batch and choose another set of images when ready.
  • Edge refinement stays in the current browser and does not automatically upload the image to a server. Results depend on the image and your edits; review the output yourself.
